I'm in love with some Thai films.

My first 2-month long summer has, so far, been boring. Most of the time, I'm home and all I did was open my Twitter & Facebook accounts, or play games on my iPod touch. To add insult to injury, the heat has been intense. The fan is already on number 2, but I still feel hot, to the point of having a sweaty neck.

Anyway, back to the topic. I've never really heard of Thai films, except Beautiful Boxer (a ladyboy who is also a Muay Thai fighter, which I haven't watched) and The Love of Siam (which I will talk about later). But still I haven't watched a Thai film... until last April.

My friends in Facebook posted the trailer of Crazy Little Thing Called Love on their profiles. Seeing the trailer, made me want to watch the movie. Kidding, actually I was curious so I watched the movie through YouTube. I laughed, I CRIED, and I got kilig all throughout the movie. After watching this, for some reason, it had an impact on me. And thanks to that, I have a new crush. (smug)
Crying moment: The confessional scene. Nam told Shone that she likes him only to find out that Shone has a relationship with Pin.

After watching that movie for the nth time, I looked for other movies that are worth watching. The next on my list was The Love of Siam. I've heard of this movie from my classmate back in my former college. It's a gay romance-slash-family drama. For me, it was long and boring, but for some reason, it also had an impact on me. What made it look good is that, aside from having a gay romance, there were also subplots.
Crying moment: Tong told his mother that she might get mad at him for choosing the wrong choice. His mom told him to choose whatever he is happy.

Friendship You and Me has got to have the saddest endings ever. It's about friends who had a reunion, reminiscing their past, but it focused mainly on the relationship of Singha and Mituna.
Crying moment: Mituna told Singha was the most important person of her life because he helped her mother.

Hello Stranger has the most interesting story among the 4 Thai movies that I watched. It's about a Thai young man and woman who met by coincidence in South Korea (especially in places where famous Koreanovelas were shot). They toured the country together, and get this, they don't know their names.
Crying moments: "Dang" told "May" that he is happy when he is spending time with her in Korea; "May" listening to a radio show where "Dang" called to consult his love problem.

If ever there's wrong grammar, please forgive me.

So there, I can finally say Thai movies, especially Mario Maurer (oops), made my summer.

A eulogy for a friend

It's really sad when you lose a friend... especially young people. It was totally unexpected.

I met Matt 4 years ago. I was part of FBB (and still am), and he's part of PRYM. We had this retreat in Batangas. We were assigned to be roommates. In those 3 days and 2 night retreat, we were able to bond through exchange of stories and strip poker, a game that he plays with his friends.

If you will ask me, that's the only memory that I remember about him. We haven't met after that, except for an exchange of hi's and hello's when I come over their church for prayer meetings.

Matt's really a nice person. It's really hard to accept the fact that he's not with us, but I'm happy because he is now with God.

Rest in peace, my brother in Christ.

Of Summer and studio tours

Oh hi! It's been a long while since I became back to Blogger. So, hello. I feel so welcomed (LOL).

Anyway, I had a blast on the ABS-CBN Studio Tour last Saturday. We went to some studios, had photo-ops with some celebrities and got to watch a live show, E-Live. I noticed that their studios are smaller in real life, and from what I've heard, they used wide angle lens to make the studio look big. Talk about camera tricks.

This is ASAP Rocks' studio. I didn't expect it to be that small. But it's already their biggest studio.

With my classmate Cheenie, and Melai Cantiveros. Melai's such a good girl.

Watching E-Live live.

So that's how my summer started. After ABS, I was planning of another studio tour but watching Showtime live. But then again, Showtime's a famous show so it's hard to get reservations (for me, at least) so I'm still planning.

As for the summer vacation, I really don't know what to do. I don't even want to plan because it'll all end up as plans. All I want is a trip to the beach and get a tan line... or drive... or go to the gym... or bond with friends... or have dance / cheerleading training sessions.
